Timothy 4:11
Command and
teach these things
COMMENT: Timothy is being instructed by Paul to not
only teach, but to command as well. He is the leader and therefore he has to
issue orders. His authority is derived from God Almighty through the elders who
laid their hands on him when he was commissioned. He was sent to by the church to
grow a group of God’s men for the Kingdom work. He did not send himself.
Teaching is
a major activity in the work of God. Men and women are able to learn everyday.
They are able to process new concepts and ideas and not only store but also put
them into practice. That way, they are able to add value to their lives and the
lives of their students.
PRAYER: Holy
Spirit! Command and teach me always. I am willing to take orders and to learn.
