REFERENCE: 1
Corinthians 15: 45 & 47 Romans 5: 19
So it is
written: “The first man Adam became a living being”, the last Adam, a
life-giving spirit. 1 Cor. 15:45. The
first man was dust of the earth, the second from heaven. 1 Cor. 15:47.
For Just as through
the disobedience of the one man, the many were made sinners, so also through
the obedience of the one man, the many will be made righteous. Rom 4:19
COMMENT:
The
first Adam is the natural man created by God from the dust of the earth and God
breathed in the body of dust and he became a living soul. The second Adam
unlike the first one, was not created. He came from heaven and like God the
Father, he had no beginning. His origin
had nothing to do with dust although he was born of a human woman named Mary,
who was a virgin. She became pregnant by the power of the Holy Spirit. The second Adam was completely different from
all other human beings hence his ability to come to earth without the first
Adam’s DNA and therefore had no sin.
The first
Adam in exercising his freedom of choice given by God; fell into the trap of
Satan. He ate the forbidden fruit knowingly and willingly and dire consequences
followed. He lost his ownership and
dominion of the earth and all other abilities given by God. He actually
transferred all what he had received from God to Satan and instead of becoming
a friend; he became a slave and an enemy.
Having won the first Adam to his side, Satan
must have included him in the list of those heading to eternal fire. God having
loved the world had other plans to rescue this first Adam. He prepared another
Adam to pay the price of death and therefore saved him. God’s rescue plan
worked very well and it is still working even today.
Our Lord and
Saviour Jesus Christ suffered humiliation and physical torture. He died on the
cross on a Friday and was buried. As he
had said, he rose again on Sunday and was seen by many for 40 days before he departed
and went back to heaven. While on earth, following the resurrection, he had supernatural
abilities.
What the first Adam lost in the hands of
Satan, the second Adam snatched and defeated the enemy. Nobody now needs to die
and proceed to hell because of whatever sin, Jesus paid for all. Redemption is
ours for the asking. ASK AND YOU WILL BE GIVEN!!
PRAYER: Thanks
Jehovah! Your mercies are everywhere every day.
