Proverbs 28:27
He who gives
to the poor will lack nothing, but he who closes his eyes to them receives many
curses.
COMMENT:
We live in a world of giving and that is why
God gives to us and expects us to share with others. When we share, we receive
more. But when we withhold, we earn ourselves curses.
In this
scripture, we are required to give to the poor and this positive action earns
us more blessings. When we neglect giving to the poor, we may find ourselves in
difficulties we cannot easily explain. Giving to charity may appear to be such
a small matter but to God, it is serious because the law is the same and must
be obeyed by all especially Christians.
A blessing
is what we expect from God Almighty, but the condition given is that we take
care of the poor and other disadvantaged people.
PRAYER:
Holy Spirit! Remind me that the world is full
of poor people even in welfare states and therefore giving is a MUST.
