REFERENCE
Mark 12:41-44
………… I tell you the truth; this poor widow has put
more into the treasury than all the others.
COMMENT:
What matters is not the amount given but the percentage of what is available
and the willingness to give. The big question is how much has been released
from all our available wealth – what percentage? The poor widow gave 100% of all her wealth. That is why the Lord Jesus
commended her because He was also able to see her heart. The heart of the giver
is more important than the gift itself. The
bible says our hearts are where our treasures are. If you intend to install
change in a man, touch his heart.
The poor
widow gave all she had to live on hence, the Lord’s comment. I am sure she was
later given more than she had released. God is faithful in everything He
promises. He does not owe anybody anything. Let us not forget that our wealth
and ourselves belong to God.
God is
interested in our hearts more than our wealth.
PRAYER: Holy
Spirit! Continue to teach us to release to God all we have because He owns us,
as well.
